Kite Studios

Lucia teaches part-time for Kite Studios - a creative education space that delivers classes for all ages and abilities, with a focus on inclusion.

Kite Studios promotes inclusion through creativity, offering classes to adults and children of all ages, local schools, homeschool groups and SEND groups.

Lucia teaches regular classes across many mediums with various groups:

  • printmaking

  • handbuilt ceramics

  • 3d crafts and sculpture

  • holiday art club

  • one-to-ones and private classes (including SEND participants)

  • Art in a Story after-school club for 3-5 year olds

Kite also offers a supported internship for young people with special educational and additional needs. The internship is designed to enable creative projects and boost making skills, as well as teach the intern about the ‘behind the scenes’ of running a studio, so the intern also helps with material prep and studio maintenance. Lucia currently works with the current intern - Kasper, who has severe autism - supervising his tasks and recording his progress.
